3 Simple Rules To Be A Successful Creative
I run my creative company with a set of rules.
These rules govern our operations, projects, clients, and staff. They are
critical to our success and without them we would be lost. I’ve learned these
rules the hard way, through trial and error, sweat and tears, and most
importantly, growth and prosperity.
1. DO WHAT YOU LOVE
This rule is critical, that is why it tops the
list. This rule acts as a cornerstone in building a successful
career. If you are not doing what you love to do, should you be doing it?
If you can accomplish Rule #1 in your daily routine, you will never have to
work a day in your life.
2. WORK FOR, AND WITH, GREAT PEOPLE
People and relationships are everything. If you
surround yourself with colleagues, business partners, co-workers, and
clients that have the ability to feed into your creative success don't be
suprised when you find your niche and discover your creative DNA or the make up
of who you are as an artist, musician, producer, photographer,
designer, entrepreneur, you name it! All positive energy must be
spent on the project and not in trying to repair
a poisonous connection. This is especially crucial in a corporate
setting where you have to work together.
3. FOLLOW THE CREATIVITY. DON'T CHASE MONEY.
This rule is very important. When working we should
always value the creative vision over financial benefit. If you can work on
great projects that you love, and with people you care about, success and
growth come as a byproduct of the art. Ironically when you seek success or
fortune, you often find yourself hating your job like 70% of most
Americans.

made to be loved, but often we use people and love money" -Anonymous
